85% of California residents to be under stay-at-home orders through Christmas

Roughly 33 million people across Southern California, the San Joaquin Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area, are now under new stay-at-home orders this week in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19. The new restrictions come in effect if a region’s hospital intensive care unit capacity drops below 15%. The state reported more than 30,000 new cases on Sunday, a record high for California.

This sounds horrible to live in a state like this, which sounds more like prison. Restaurants will be open only for takeout or pickup, while businesses such as hair and nail salons, movie theaters and bars will be closed. Playgrounds, museums and zoos will be closed as well. Retailers, including grocery stores, will remain open, but capacity will be limited to 20%. People are literally killing themselves because of this. This is getting ridiculous. https://www.redlandscommunitynews.com/opinion/commentary/we-need-to-battle-high-suicide-rates-caused-by-the-pandemic/article_31c520b6-e885-11ea-a893-c3cfbebc4022.html https://abc7news.com/suicide-covid-19-mental-health-teen-coronavirus/8079510 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/japan-suicide-coronavirus-more-japanese-suicides-in-october-than-total-covid-deaths/

Sounds like 85% of Californians are living under tyranny. Imagine how tolerable those conditions would be without the internet.

Americans stand up! We must show our feckless leaders that they cannot do this to us while they go to Mexico or out to dinner with generations past. We must show these people that we will not be pushed around and downtrodden. Stand up for your rights. How do we do that? Simple. Dont hurt anyone, dont protest, dont scream and shout. Just go to work. If 1/4 of everyone who is locked down just went about their normal lives these tyrants couldnylt do a damn thing.

I bet their outstanding governor is really roughing it right now. Cutting out one extra social event with a lobbyist this week maybe?

What about the homeless in California? CA has the largest number of homeless in the nation, where do they go? Back to their tent in skid row and stay inside or you’ll be fined???

There's an exception for "podcasters" so just start up a fake YouTube account and document your Christmas on a private stream and if anyone says anything, you're a "podcaster and exempt from lockdown measures."

At some point, the solution is worse than the problem. I just hope these people realize that before it's too late ...

I live in California. Please check your assumptions of tyranny and communism at the door. We here in California, well most of us, understand the larger goal and are ready to do our part. Yes, small business and our families suffer, but the shutdown being suggested this time around is not even close to March/April. We will survive. We will do it together and we will make this a productive endeavor. I implore you to do the same in your communities/states.

Yet, people will continue getting covid. At least almost 100% will live. Tho that's not a popular thing to say. Californians deserve what they get. They're the morons who keep voting for the same traitors.

Riverside county's sheriff tells the governor he won't enforce lockdowns, or masks, or stay at home. He says business stay open in riverside county. Outdoor dining is ok. https://youtu.be/cJnuXjzVng8

Hahahahaha, suckers! No more lockdowns in Texas or Florida. If y’all keep destroying the country, Texas will be able to easily and cleanly declare independence, and with more oil and gas and fuel and military and power grid and Corp headquarters, there is little to nothing Biden and friends could do...

It's interesting that California has the most strict regulations and largest lockdowns, and yet has the most infections and deaths from COVID. Must be working for them.

Well I’m not surprise since people don’t wear a mask. All this things can be preventable but people are such a hard head which is annoying. Can you sue a person for giving you covid?

Unless your privileged like in a political office or Hollywood... remember out door eating is banned (based in zero science) but Hollywood can still shoot movies as an "essential business" while eating outside under tents via catering trucks... Screw the American people, I guess.. and screw the stimulus bill, thanks Democrats for making America a living hell. Keep in mind this is not to say neccessary say the Republicans are any better by a large margin but atleast they attempt to use common sense with both critical thinking and risk management
