India is going on a 4-hour nationwide shutdown as hundreds of thousands of farmers agitating over new farm laws enacted by the Parliament of India, have laid a virtual siege to the national capital, Delhi. Several opposition parties are supporting the shutdown and said their workers will participate. Bank unions have said they back the farmers but won’t participate in the shutdown.
Now you see me, now you don't. Indians had forgotten for some time this old ways. Back to their basics of ahead twice reverse once, at least !!
The indian farmers currently sell their produce at government co-ops with guaranteed floor prices. The new laws would allow private businesses to use their substantially larger buying power to negotiate lower prices and bankrupt small farmers.
Just when you were clapping for Indians and long overdue progressions, they do this. Puts a very large dent on global business eyes.
