Iran’s Supreme Court upholds dissident journalist’s death sentence

Iran’s Supreme Court has upheld a death sentence against dissident journalist Ruhollah Zam for fuelling anti-government unrest in 2017. In June, a court sentenced Zam to death, saying he had been convicted of ’corruption on Earth,’ a charge used in cases involving attempts to overthrow the government. Zam’s website spread the timings of the protests and information about officials.
