Emirati co-owner of Israel’s Beitar Jerusalem says ’door open for Arab players’

Israeli soccer club Beitar Jerusalem’s new co-owner from the UAE, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Nahyan – a member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family, said the club was open to take Arab players. However, the club’s overwhelmingly right-wing Jewish fans, who are openly racist towards Israel’s Arab minority, may not take this announcement kindly. Sheikh Hamad bought 50% of the club’s stake last week.
