COVID-19 meeting in Idaho ends abruptly after intense protests threaten safety

Public health officials in Idaho abruptly ended a meeting after the Boise mayor and chief of police reported that intense protests which were taking place outside the health department’s building, and outside some health officials’ homes, were threatening public safety. The Ada County Commissioner tearfully interrupted the online meeting and said she had to rush home from work to be with her son.

Its called accountability. If you rule over your people who elected you to work for them they will make a stand.

At least she had a job she can go home from. All the people creating lockdowns don't loose their jobs from lockdowns. I believe that should change. If you try to institute a lockdown then the first job to go is yours.

Funny, if it was BLM and ANTIFA outside, they might have just said, "It is mainly a PEACEFUL PROTEST, just like this one actually was."

I think protesting outside people's homes is borderline terrorism in most cases. That being said, I also find it amusing how seriously these articles are acting, when the same publications were putting forth the 'mostly peaceful protest' nonsense when BLM was engaging in the same behavior, on a far larger scale, not too long ago.

Born and raised in Idaho and I feel like I can’t live here anymore. Right wing extremism is suffocating rational thought and kindness. These people use “protest” as a conduit for hate and fear mongering. I can’t imagine the feeling of being in a city meeting as an elected official trying to discuss the health and safety of all citizens and getting a text message from your frightened son, home alone with protesters screaming outside. These people have no shame.

This is not acceptable behaviour, they shouldn't be allowed to target he and her family in this way. Just shameful. Cue the red hats with their whataboutisms.

Are Trumpers in Idaho doing what BLM/ANTIFA leftists were doing? showing up at peoples houses and offices and causing a scene starting conflict? I thought they were better than that.

Realize! this is what the liberals want to do is divide this country even more down to the very fabric of this country and they along with liberal media have close to accomplished. This is a time we ALL have to work together and not to let the govt succeed at what they have started. We all should have a voice regardless who we are in this country!!!

Isn’t it odd how when people protest in our neighborhoods it’s called peaceful and we’d get arrested responding to a threat, but then when people protest the actual officials they are called threatening?

Just to review; y'all were injecting soldiers with 8-10 vaccines just to go to the middle East and we all know how that turns out. If you'll experiment with them, good luck.

The extreme stupidity and unconscionable selfishness of these far-right lunatics just keep getting worse. I can't wait until their mouthpiece is gone in 42 days, and we get a leader who follows facts and science and not paranoia and wishful thinking.

Getting real sick of this politician victimhood. Just because some crazy makes a death threat online, or people are protesting outside your house isn’t an excuse to avoid accountability. If you expect to sit in an ivory tower, and make decisions affecting the livelihood of others while being insulated from the effects of those same decisions, or the anger of those affected, you’re in the wrong country.

This is not good. It's pretty clear the ppl in idaho could actually careless about the country as a whole. I say they should have police presence at everyone of their houses if that's what it takes. Let them do their job and quit crying like brats.

It's TRUE though, the mandates have changed very little as far as the media would like you to believe.

Mandates have not stopped the spread because people aren't following them.....and exactly what does "try liberty instead" mean? Granted Idaho isn't known for being an epicenter for intellectual advancement....matter of fact they housed the largest neo nazi compound all throughout the 90's....so this type of idiocy doesnt surprise me.

Seems like the public did a good thing in Idaho, reminding the officials there that they answer to the public and that this lockdown 🐂💩 needs to stop. Nothing illegal was performed, nobody was harmed, and hopefully this leads to Idaho listening to its people.
