US reports over 3,000 coronavirus deaths for 1st time
The US on Wednesday reported COVID-19 deaths of over 3,000, the highest single-day death toll from the virus. This comes as hospitalizations across the country surged alarmingly higher, straining healthcare systems in some areas. Ten mostly rural counties scattered across California reported having no ICU beds available on Wednesday. The country now has over 296K deaths from the virus.
