Facebook outage disrupts Messenger and Instagram DMs

A service outage disrupted Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs for many users, as new messages failed to send and old ones failed to load. The website Downdetector, which monitors website outages, showed that a horde of users reported issues with these services that peaked around 8:30AM ET. The disruptions have since been resolved, Facebook said.
