Hong Kong pro-democracy tycoon Jimmy Lai charged under security law

Hong Kong democracy activist and media tycoon Jimmy Lai, 73, has been charged under the city’s national security law on suspicion of colluding with foreign forces to endanger national security. Lai, who was denied bail over separate matters last week and jailed on remand, will appear in court on the NSL charges on Saturday.
