Tower of skulls kept as trophies found near Aztec temple in Mexico

Archaeologists have discovered dozens of skulls near an Aztec temple close to Mexico City. The 119 skulls discovered made up part of a tower of heads of sacrificed humans kept as a trophy by the pre-Columbian civilization. The skulls included those of women and children. Archaeologists believe the huge pile of victims’ heads was a sign of power and prestige.
