California joins federal antitrust case against Google

California is seeking to join the DOJ in its antitrust lawsuit against Google parent Alphabet. State AG Xavier Becerra filed the motion to join the case in federal court on Friday. In a case filed by the DOJ in October, Google has been accused of using billions of dollars collected from advertisers to pay phone manufacturers to ensure Google is the default search engine on browsers.
