FDA chief says he hopes first COVID-19 vaccine will be administered Monday

Stephen Hahn, the commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said Sunday he hoped the COVID-19 vaccine would begin to be administered in the US as early as tomorrow following the agency’s emergency use authorization for Pfizer’s vaccine on Friday. The FDA approval is now waiting to be signed-off by the CDC director before the vaccines can be injected into the arms of Americans.
