US removes Sudan from list of state sponsors of terrorism
Sudan has been removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Sudan was put on the list in 1993 after it was used as a base for al-Qaeda. President Trump announced the removal in October as part of a deal that involved Sudan paying $335m to US victims of the 1998 terror attacks against US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Sudan also agreed to normalize relations with Israel.
