FTC orders major social platforms to explain how they deal with user data
The US Federal Trade Commission has asked top social media and videostreaming platforms to explain how they deal with users’ personal data. The order was sent to Facebook, WhatsApp, Snap, Twitter, Amazon, YouTube, TikTok (ByteDance), Twitch, Reddit and Discord. Giving them 45 days to respond, it asked these companies how they use and track personal data, and how their policies affect minors.
