The U.S. DHS and thousands of businesses are responding to a cyber attack that officials suspect was directed by the Russian government. Technology company SolarWinds said up to 18,000 of its customers had downloaded a compromised software update that allowed hackers to spy on businesses and agencies for almost nine months. The attacks were revealed on Sunday in a story by Reuters.
