$59 million fine against Uber for not sharing sexual assault case data

California regulators have fined Uber $59 million after the company refused to hand over more detailed data regarding a sexual assault report dating back to 2019. License for the company could also be pulled according to threats by state regulators if the fine is not paid and Uber does not comply. Uber has claimed that sharing details regarding the same would be against the victim’s privacy.
