Five-week lockdown to be imposed over Christmas in the Netherlands

Schools and shops are set to be closed for at least five-weeks as Netherlands is set to go into a tough second lockdown. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Mark Rutte as the government tries to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision faced a lot of backlash with protesters banging pots and pans outside of his office in The Hague. Gatherings have been limited to no more than two people.
