Trump administration withholds Medicaid funding to California over abortions
The Trump admin says it will withhold $200M in Medicaid funding from California in the first quarter of 2021 over the state’s mandate that health insurance providers include coverage for elective abortion. The administration maintains that the state does not have the constitutional right to make such a requirement. HHS Secretary Alex Azar made the announcement during a White House event.

I'm so disappointed with people. They call the right to a safe abortion authoritarianism. Did you know that people who call out authoritarianism, are suffering from that themselves? They want to control other human beings over their own personal beliefs, and some are willing to take a step further.

Every law or government action that opposes abortion is a violation of the first amendment. You do NOT have the right to force YOUR religious interpretation of abortion on other people. What next, is he going to withold education money if we don't teach our kids that creationism is just as valid as actual science? We're already saying that you are allowed to hold super spreader covid parties, as long as you call it "mass". At what point is our government going to be allowed to mitigate the destructive impact that dogmatic religious extremists have on progress?

Forcing every insurer to cover abortion is totalitarian. Just leave the market so that you can get options that include abortions, and others that don't.... cant see why California needs its grubby fingers in every personal decision...
