Seattle politician calls 911 to protect her from a crime she wants to legalize
Lisa Herbold, a Seattle City Councilwoman and supporter of the ’defund the police’ movement, called the cops after a man reportedly threw a rock through her living room window. Critics say the same crime could be ’effectively legalized’ under Herbold’s plans for a ’poverty defense.’ Herbold’s proposal could see suspects found not guilty if they are ’meeting an immediate basic need.’

Such much about this is just dumb and inaccurate. For one, defund the police is not in any way the same as abolish the police. For another, she has never tried to legalise throwing rocks through windows. This is merely dishonesty trotted out to peddle to a false narrative.
