Kansas GOP mayor resigns after threats over backing mask mandate
A Kansas mayor announced her immediate resignation Tuesday citing threats received for publicly supporting a mask mandate. Dodge City Mayor Warshaw said she was concerned about her safety after encountering aggression. Warshaw added that she changed her political registration from Republican to unaffiliated, ’simply because the Republican Party isn’t the Republican Party that I know.’

Look at all these internet tough guys calling her spineless without even knowing how severe the threats and intimidation was for her and possibly her family. Having a ‘good riddance’ attitude rather than seeing that the root of this problem is how certain politicians and media personalities have made it seem acceptable to intimidate and threaten any politician in which they do not agree with. Recent history has shown that there are plenty of unstable people who are easily coerced to do unthinkable things to politicians. If she feels risking her life for essentially a part-time political job in a city is not worth it then more power to her.
