The European Commission has approved Google’s $2.1 billion takeover of wearable tech company Fitbit after an agreement. In the deal with the commission, Google agreed to a number of concessions to ease EU concerns. This includes a ban on Google to use Fitbit data, including GPS and health data, gathered from any user in the European Economic Area for targeted advertising.
