Michigan man who was wrongfully convicted freed after 38 years

63-year-old Walter Forbes, who was sentenced to life without parole in an arson fatality has been freed after 38 years in a Michigan prison. Forbes was freed after a woman admitted that she lied under oath during his 1983 trial because she and her children were threatened. Forbes’ arson and murder convictions were overturned by Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wilson in November.
