Microsoft reportedly developing its own server and desktop ARM processors
Microsoft is reported to be developing its own line of server and desktop processors using technology licensed from Arm Ltd. to reduce its reliance on computer chips provided by Intel Corporation. This move is an attempt to vertically integrate its hardware supply chain as it prepares its Azure cloud business to compete with web services from Amazon, Google, IBM, and Oracle.

Microsoft is a software company and no doubt they are mimicking Apples move to develop its own chips. The regulators must be sleeping again, allowing these large companies to become true monopolies of their areas. Intel will suffer as a big share of the market will disappear, the customers will see less choice and no alternatives. With these companies using their own chips other providers including free Linux will be shut out. We the customers will suffer in the long term. This must be investigated and stopped. It is another reason why Big Tech firms need to be broken up.
