On Friday, the US reached a new daily high with 249,709 new COVID-19 cases even in the presence of a second approved vaccine from Moderna. Although the cases rose, the number of fatalities recorded were 2,814 which were lesser than the 3,300 recorded on Thursday. The total death toll stands at 313,406.
