Jupiter and Saturn to appear closer than in 800 years

Aligning with the winter solstice on December 21, 2020, the planets Jupiter and Saturn will be so close that they will appear to form a ’double planet.’ The great conjunction, as the planetary alignment has come to be known, hasn’t occurred in nearly 800 years (March 4, 1226). While the two planets’ orbits align every 20 years, their being this close is extremely rare.

I've been watching them come closer each night. Camping in the southern desert during winter is as nice as living in Idaho in the summer.
