Countries ban travel from UK as new Covid strain takes hold
Countries around the world have started banning flights from the UK in an attempt to suppress the spread of a new variant of the coronavirus that has plunged south-east England into a tier 4 lockdown. Many European nations have suspended flights from the UK. Outbound train services through the Channel Tunnel have also been halted. Canada, Israel and Argentina are also blocking UK flights.
