California hospitals mulling rationing care as pandemic overwhelms them

Overwhelmed with a steep surge in Covid-19 patients, California’s hospitals are drawing up plans in case they have to limit how many people receive life-saving care. Currently, hospitalized Covid-19 patients are more than double of the mid-January peak. Los Angeles County’s top health official said plans for rationing care are not in place yet, but they need them as the ’worst is yet to come.’
