Robert E. Lee statue removed from Capitol

On Monday, Virginia governor Ralph Northam announced that the statue of Robert E. Lee was removed Sunday night. The statue, which will be relocated to Virginia Museum of History and Culture, has been at the Capitol for 111 years. A statue of civil rights activist Barbara Rose Johns will be going up in its place.

"So far from engaging in a war to perpetuate slavery, I am rejoiced that slavery is abolished. I believe it will be greatly for the interests of the South. So fully am I satisfied of this, as regards Virginia especially, that I would cheerfully have lost all I have lost by the war, and have suffered all I have suffered, to have this object attained." -Robert E Lee, The man accused of fighting for the rights of his state, and sadly, had slavery shoed into that defense. He never intended to fight for slavery. We suffer greatly when we revise history to uphold the morals we do today. The civil war was extremely complex, and we do the men and women who died in its wake a disservice by painting with broad strokes.

Germany are forced to maintain Auschwitz to remind Germany and the world of the evil that went on. And USA is pulling down their statues. Almost like someone wants to repeat this history because it will be forgotten.

Very Proud of the Capitol. But should have never gone up in the first places. Should NEVER celebrated treason and traitors.

Sad days that we allow ourselves to just "remove" our history. Hard times are approaching...

So why did my comment about him being a traitor get removed? Who exactly is moderating this garbage app? The Trump cultists can openly support a coup but calling Robert E Lee for what he is gets removed? Unreal. Weird times.

Perhaps when Trump is done with his term, in jail, he can build another casino in Atlantic City with a Confederate theme Called the Rebellious Loooser Pavilion and then he can shove all these statues into one location that no one will ever see except for those who wish to have a reminder what happens to useful idiohts that try to divide this country.

How does this change history. Arlington cemetery used to be owned by Robert E Lee. Will this be next to go? His house which is a monument in Arlington. How far will the insanity go? This seems to have a similar approach when Hitler rose to power.

So when are we going to ban the word "racist" and remove it from all dictionaries? After all, it does describe racists! Oh, but then you couldn't describe the racist stuff Biden has done 🤔 https///youtu.b//bmmahbbARNI
