Eight Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus acrobats who were severely injured when the rigging suspending them plummeted to the floor during a performance in Rhode Island in 2014 have reached a $52.5 million settlement with the owners and management of the arena. They fell atop a dancer who was on the ground below. Their lawyer said some of the injuries had been ’life-altering.’
So sad this happen. The money will not appease the lifetime of pain they will continue to go through
Oh wow, I hope they’re paid properly. They do deserve it. Imagine, training for years, even decades, on a chosen profession and having that taken away in an instant. That’s on top of the trauma, the rehabilitation, and the hospital bills plus having to depend on other people to do basic tasks for the rest of your life. I would say this is a good victory before 2020 ends.
