Black airmen in US Air Force face many forms of discrimination, probe finds

A report by the United States Air Force inspector general that probed into racial disparities across the service said black airmen are far more likely to be investigated, arrested, face disciplinary actions and be discharged for misconduct. It also found one-third of the black airmen believe they don’t get the same opportunities as their white peers and are less likely to be promoted.

I love the association that if the percentage of disciplined black people is higher than others then is just be a disparity, no other associating factor. Like there's no possible chance that on average their is a higher violence in the demographic than in any other.

Air Force promotions are straight merit-based by test scores. Negative UCMJ actions don't generate themselves. Get smarter and stop committing crimes. Period. If one group is disproportionately affected by these two facts, well, you can draw your own conclusions.

I realize that I'm in the minority (no pun intended) when I say that I don't understand why humans are so bigoted. We are all the same. Skin color has NOTHING to do with our humanity, it's just different flavors of the same thing... humanity. Like M&Ms, all in the same package. (yes, bigotry is just that silly) But, apparently, some people are intimidated by differences, so they have to make those people out to be the enemy. They only want people who look exactly like them. I think that is BORING. And who is to say caucasions should be the arbitors of all things? Why, caucasions of course! (BTW, I'm white)

Side note: acts of discrimination does exist within the armed forces, for which I can personally attest.

What kind of low hanging fruit is this news story about discrimination in the US military... When Alexander Vindman, a US Army lieutenant colonel and a member of the US National Security Council, who testified at the impeachment hearing of President Donald Trump, was removed from the White House and is accused of disloyalty to the president for his willingness to safeguard the country from corruption at the highest level.

Hmm. They're more likely to be disciplined and discharged? must be because of evil white people, not naughty black people.

One third believe they don't get the same opportunities as white compatriots...like what? Do the white Air Force units get better chairs than the black ones?

I can't post the lyrics of "popular black music" on this site. They've gone way downhill since Johnny Mathis, Ray Charles and even Michael Jackson. https://www.xxlmag.com/rap-lyrics-violent/

Haha. What a joke. Minorities have so many advantages in the military it’s not even funny. The story can be written on how whites are discriminated against routinely and it’s perfectly OK

No, It doesn't. Not giving special treatment to blacks doesn't mean they're being racially profiled against but clearly that's what the marxist media would have you believe.

I call bs I know several black service men that all hold high or deccent rankings and are over white men. Article is extremely misleading. Sure if you look into it I bet asians are even worse off then blacks since there population is so low.

Maybe we could just have a black air force and a white airforce. I've heard segregation is woke and very progressive now days. Just a thought.

Just because they dont feel like they get the same opportunity does not mean that they dont... plus the military has never been an equal opportunity employer.. it is heavily biased toward hard work, courage, and honor for the homeland... promotions are typically merit based .. go cry about it to someone else, only you chose to sign your life away to Uncle Sam... Ps.. again, this isnt the 1940 US miltary... segregation is not a thing but bravery like the red tails etc. Is (and should be praised)
