Sen. Perdue wont be in Congress for joint session on Electoral College

A tight political calendar in January means that Georgia Senator David Perdue will not be in office when Congress will meet on January 6 for a joint session on the Electoral College. Chief of staff to the secretary of the Senate Sydney Butler said that Perdue’s term will officially expire at the end of the current Congress on January 3. This will leave his seat temporarily vacant.
