George Blake, British double agent, dies in Russia at 98

George Blake, who was a former British intelligence officer and worked as a double agent for the Soviet Union, passing some of the most coveted Western secrets to Moscow, has died at the age of 98. His death was announced by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, known as SVR. Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, described Blake as a ’brilliant professional’ and a man of ’remarkable courage.’

I love that all the articles used the euphemism "double agent" instead of the legally more accurate term traitor. This man sold out his country to a foreign power for ideological reasons. He should be excoriated in the press but alas he was a communist so we can't be too hard on this champion of the proletariat.

Interesting comments. Considering the Brits are paying such a double traitor to enjoy life in England.. Skripal should be. Hung. Drawn and Quartered for selling out the UK to Russia. If we are going to use the same measuring stick as used on Blake...
