Knife attack in northeastern China leaves 7 dead, suspect arrested

An assailant carried out a knife attack outside a sauna in China’s Kaiyuan city in the country’s northeast province of Liaoning. The attack left at least seven people dead and seven others injured. The suspect, which media identified as Yang, has been arrested. Motive for the attack remains unknown. Mass knife attacks are not uncommon in China, where firearms are strictly restricted for civilians.
