A surge in COVID-19 cases in Britain has caused hospitals to scramble to find spaces for patients as all non-urgent procedures are being cancelled by them. The surge continues even though tough restrictions have been put into place by the authorities. On Monday, a total of 41,385 cases were confirmed across the country. A new variant of the virus is being blamed for the sudden spread in cases.
How many of these cases are actually symptomatic? How many have been tested by PCR which has an enormous false positive rate? Why is this the first pandemic in history where asymptomatic cases are actively looked for? Where is the evidence to support lockdowns given that "cases" continue to rise at this rate?
