An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale hit Croatia causing significant damage to buildings in Petrinja town, southeast of Zagreb. This is the strongest quake ever recorded in the region. Several countries have been affected, including Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czechia, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Austria. Many casualties are feared.

Due to earlier earthquake, members of civil protection, army and firefighters were already helping throughout effected region when new one struck today. Regardless, there are some deaths along many injured, many are still being searched for and recovered under rubble. Needless to say, since yesterday, there have been many aftershocks and will be to come.
