Lincoln statue with free slave at his feet removed in Boston
Boston removed a statue of Abraham Lincoln after the city agreed with those who said it was demeaning. The statue showed Lincoln holding his hand over a kneeling black man modeled on Archer Alexander, the last man captured under the Fugitive Slave Act. The statue stood in the city’s Park Square since 1879. It is a copy of Thomas Ball’s monument in Washington, DC’s Lincoln Park, which still stands.
How very Leftist to remove the imagery of emancipation, especially considering the history of the imagery, and who had it created initially. Another instance of the Left acting in favor of white supremacy. Go ahead, erase history until nobody remembers our sins, and we can go forward in clear and historically ignorant conscience to repeat our ancestor's mistakes. Has anyone told them their the baddies? Maybe they don't realize it somehow. Don't fight free speech. Don't fight history. Don't destroy what you didn't create. A$$holes.
This was a decision based on ignorance. This is what happens when you don't have a properly educated society.

Normally I have a real problem with statue removal, I think history is history, and building resilience in your character rather than fragility about the past is the way to go. But in my rarely humble opinion focusing constantly on the narrative of slavery only injures both peoples. Constantly focusing on slavery does nothing but remind blacks of their domination and whites of the enslaving. Healthy people are not victims or perpetually guilty but accept the past has passed, letting it die with the dead is correct way. With this particular statue, as much as I think history must be preserved with a little bias as possible, my gut feeling is that it serves today’s generations better in a museum.
