Argentina lawmakers debate bill to legalize abortion

Argentinian senators are debating a bill that seeks to legalize abortion up to the 14th week of pregnancy. The Chamber of Deputies has already passed the bill, but it faces a stiff contest in the Senate. In 2018, the bill was narrowly defeated. However, unlike then, the bill now has the government’s backing. Latin America has very restrictive abortion laws. This bill, if approved, may change that.

Two people who abstain from sex before marriage and then remain devout and monogamous have ZERO chance of STDs, unwanted children, substantial reduction in probability of divorce, will live longer, will be more successful in life, and their children will more likely prosper..... This is a fact. So why is the media and the popular culture pushing sex, drugs and rock and roll? Oh ya... $$$$$

These people pretending there weren't any laws regarding abortion while a judge or a doctor could order one legally in pretty much every country on the planet depending on the situation. No, what these people want is a retroactive contraceptive, it has nothing to do with saving women lives, is has everything to do with living in promiscuity without responsibilities and consequences.

The people already voted ''no'' against it but, the usual international suspects don't take no for an answer. Please respect the will of the people.

Safe, and free abortions this will probably increase the quality of life for the poor in that country. This should be something the US does. No more dangerous teas, falling down stairs or dangerous unobserved or undocumented abortions.

I agree with Columbia's law on abortion, "which allows for a woman to have an abortion in three circumstances: when her life is at stake, when a fetus has serious health problems and when her pregnancy resulted from rape." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/03/02/world/americas/colombia-abortion.amp.html I think this is a reasonable compromise. Yet this doesn't seem to be enough for some people. I hope their government keeps the law as it is instead of copying Argentina.

Regressive legislation. It is depressing when you see nations turn their back on human rights and take this massive step back morally. Truly sad.
