Spending on mobile apps hit $407 million globally on Christmas Day

Worldwide spending on mobile apps reached $407.6 million across Google Play and Apple’s App Store on Christmas day, according to estimates by mobile app analyst Sensor Tower. That’s an increase of 34.5 percent year over year versus the $303 million generated in 2019. Of the total spent, $295 million went on games and $112 million on other apps like streaming services.
