Times Square to usher in New Year without the party crowd

The New Year’s Eve event in Times Square was held without the usual huge crowd for the first time in 114 years, due to the pandemic. The event, however, was accessible via an app called VNYE, where users could also explore the virtual world of Times Square. Organizers of the New Year’s Eve event are working hard through the pandemic trying to make this event special for people watching at home.
