Police offer $500 for tips leading to arrests of people celebrating with gunfire

Police in Montgomery is offering a $500 reward for tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of people who perform celebratory gunfire. The offer comes as police planned to enforce a new ordinance under which people who fire guns into the air can be fined up to $100 and spend 7 days in jail for a 1st offense. For repeat offenses, the fine may jump to $500 and jail time could be up to 6 months.

I'll be shooting all my guns at new year's, But I live up in the mountains and not any filthy, crime ridden city so it's even better up here.

Firing into the air is dangerous and irresponsible. The bullet has to land somewhere and there a plenty of cases where it hits someone injuring or even killing them. If you want to fire your gun unload onto a target! https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2017/02/15/firing-a-gun-into-the-air-can-kill-someone/?sh=117629d43d22
