COVID-19 variant found in South Africa might be a problem for vaccines

Scientists in the UK expressed concern that COVID-19 vaccines being rolled out in Britain may not be able to protect against a new COVID variant from South Africa. Simon Clarke, an associate professor in cellular microbiology said that while the variants found in the UK and South Africa were similar, the one found in South Africa ’has a number additional mutations … which are concerning.’

What if COVID-19 is the equivalent of a test run of the Manhattan Project? "Can we modify a virus that will spread globally and take out everyone over 75?" "How about one that only takes out people with a specific genetic sequence?" imagine a virus that wiped out European (or African, etc) ethnicities but didn't take out Asian ethnicities. Would China "accidentally" release such a virus?

Of course Adam Sutler. Always trust the Norsefire Party. That’s what they insist.
