Verizon to continue 3G for now, postpones its planned shutdown

Verizon isn’t shutting down its 3G network for the moment. The carrier had been taking steps towards ending its 3G network from way back in 2012 when it started offering 4G LTE. Later, the company said it will shut down its 3G network by 2019. However, Kevin King, the carrier’s spokesman, told Light Reading that Verizon’s 3G is ’operational’ and that it doesn’t ’plan to shut it down at this time.’

Dont be fooled. You still won't be able to add any new 3g devices to your vzw account. So if/when your 3g device goes out, you'll have to upgrade

I would take a basic old phone service if it was cheaper
