Trump bans transactions with companies behind 8 popular Chinese apps

President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order prohibiting money transactions with the companies behind eight Chinese apps. These are: Alipay, CamScanner, QQ Wallet, SHAREit, Tencent QQ, VMate, WeChat Pay, and WPS Office. The US Commerce Department confirmed that it will begin implementing the executive order’s directives before Trump leaves office on January 20, Reuters reported.

Holy shit, I didn't realise I was using Chinese spyware by using wps and shareit. Thanks for the heads up, Trump.

I did not vote for Trump and I disagree with most of what he does. But China has become too powerful for us to ignore any longer. I do agree with this, they are not our friend, they commit atrocious acts on their own people, and they wish to shame us on the global stage. Trump has given them a great platform to do it on. I can only hope Biden will handle them better.

A great move. Until China respects the rights of Hong Kong (and their own people at that) every country should be refusing to work with them. Everyone can agree that anyone who continued regular trade with Nazi Germany in WWII was terrible and selfish, and everyone should agree that regular trade with China now is terrible and selfish.
