WhatsApp requires users to share data with Facebook

Back in 2014, WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook in a deal worth a staggering $19 billion. In an update to the privacy policy of the application, WhatsApp requires users to share their data with Facebook and its associated companies. These include Facebook Payments, Onavo, and CrowdTangle. Earlier, users could opt out from sharing data with Facebook but the same option is no longer available.
