White House condemns attack on Capitol, calls upon country to unite

A day after a mob of President Trump’s supporters violently stormed the US Capitol, the White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, condemned the mob in a short statement. She said: ’Those who violently besieged our Capitol are the opposite of everything this administration stands for.’ She said the White House condemns the violence ’in the strongest possible terms’ and it was ’unacceptable.’
