’r/donaldtrump’ subreddit banned by Reddit

The popular subreddit ’r/donaldtrump’ has been banned by Reddit. The group was one of the largest political communities on Reddit even though it was not an official page which was either hosted by Donald Trump or his campaign. Reddit, with this ban, has followed the path set by Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook. The community had repeatedly violated Reddit’s policies according to a spokesperson.

So a group of people are being silenced. Laugh all you want until it happens to you. Does this mean all conservatives should be silenced because they don't follow the popular narrative? This truly is scary.

I love the headline this user wrote for one reason. It effectively says "Tech Corporations are in agreement that they should make new rules and censor speech they disagree with." but in a nice feeling way so everybody will cheer for the censorship instead of punishing them for trying to circumvent freedom of speech and silence dissident voices. A smokescreen that smells like roses is still just perfume to blot out the cesspit stench.

They violated the TOS by openly supporting Trump. Now that Biden is moving into the Whitehouse, tech companies will feel emboldened to deplatform different opinions knowing they won't face any consequences.

To those laughing at this it may be trump supporters being silenced for now but who do you think is next, the answer is you and when they do you'll be the one laughed at

Note to anyone who only reads the headline and not the article. The page was not hosted by Trump or anyone in his campaign. It was just random Trump supporters. The ban did not come because it had Trumps name attached to it, it was banned because its users were using hate speech, doxxing people they don’t agree with, and urging people to do violent things like kidnapping and killing law makers and liberals in general. All of which are strictly against Reddit’s policies.

So the social media sites become gatekeepers of information. Should’ve seen this coming. With all of the novels that are out there like Brave New World and 1984 we should’ve known information would be the prized possession of the 21st century and beyond. You see big tech deciding what voices are allowed to be heard and what voices are now silenced because they don’t fit the so-called “agenda”. Twitter Facebook and now Apple and Google - the gatekeepers of information. What is true what is not? The truth is no longer important. Each side has their own truths and very few are willing to agree to disagree, make compromises, change their opinions, etc. What is important, though, is the fact that no one truly knows what the truth really is. That fact alone should tell everyone, regardless of which side you are on, that neither right or left is the correct answer or solution to this mayhem but rather it falls somewhere in the middle. Until we wake the fuck up and act like adults here, we will never be able to progress as a civilization. Just as a side note here: none of what I said should in any way shape or form be tied to who I “voted for”. Again, that doesn’t fucking matter here - what matters is the message I’m trying to send. Also, I’m only 23 so for those that think my generation is a bunch of scrubs (most are unfortunately) I hope there are more like me with their heads on straight.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. A longer version by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, a charity established by the British government, is as follows:[4] First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me

So… why didn't you ban them long ago? Your freedom of speech ends where my human rights begin! Everybody kmows that! If YOU DON'T… it's time that you learn! It isn't about you… all the time! If you feel it is your right to offend others… where is their right to live free from hate? If you disagree… there lays the problem. It's all about YOU… YOU… YOU! In reality… it’s about US… US… US!

Awesome! I’m loving the Trumpsters being silenced on social media platforms. They’re spewing racism and wild conspiracy theories. Good riddens.
