Video shows Capitol Police officer being crushed during crowd rampage

Video footage that’s emerged from Wednesday’s riot at the Capitol shows what appears to be a Capitol Police officer being crushed between a riot shield and a metal door as rioters forced their way into the building. The unidentified officer’s medical condition was not immediately known. The mob, armed with pipes and pepper spray, shoved and kicked officers to push their way through.

Where were the rubber bullets aimed specifically at people's eyes? Where were the water cannons? Where were the armored tanks and assault rifles? Why didn't the police sneak up behind the protesters in plain clothes and throw bricks to give themselves an excuse to open fire? I will tell you where. The Capitol Police didn't resort to terrorism in combating terrorism. They made mistakes, there should have been more of them and better security. But the individual police officers should be an example to police forces everywhere when handling protests.

If they killed an officer on their way in, what would they have done with actual Congress people? With the pipe bombs, and hostage zip ties?

What? A violent mob incited by the president actually hurt someone? Who could’ve guessed.

For contrast just review the Civil Rights protesters of the 50s & 60s. Blacks were beatend, fire hosed and attacked by police dogs. This was standard operating procedures for that period, especially in the south. Not much out cry at the time either. By and large these protest were generally peaceful except when the cops attacked the crowds. And don't forget Kent State massacre.🤣🇨🇦

More people died during trump's coup attempt than died at Benghazi, yet his far right supports will say that the coup had to be done to keep trump out of jail.

Sad times in America. I look back at the sixties when there was a lot of civil unrest... Police didn't put up with this stuff and they were brutal. And they were highly criticized for it. But I think they knew there's a line that gets crossed and when its crossed, FIGHT and CRUSH! Now there are cameras everywhere, travel is cheap, titanic political divide, and fear of accountability. As a result, escalated unrest. More to come I'm afraid. Trump will find other venues for he and his followers to keep the agenda alive. I look at Watergate. Reason being is that's, IMO, when the parties really became divided. Today it's as bad as the early 1800's. They need to come together and we need a leader everyone can stand behind without bias. Good luck.

75% of Americans are moderate (only slight left or slight right on particular issues) including me. I wish the news media outlets started to recognize those who represent the majority (politically speaking.) Wouldn’t it be great if “boring” was in style and the Far Left and Far Right were out of style? ... if only for a moment and if only in my dreams.😀✌️

Crazy azz extremists never solve anything. Why is it the intellectual prowess of some is just completely passed on others? Maybe we should dive a little more into genetic manipulation to located and destroy the idiot gene. Imagine a world without ignorance or prejudice (the 2 arent always the same). I'd be like that old John Lennon song.

Just like the dude that was running up the stairs constantly from the crowd. Believing the shield of authority would actually work against a mob when an actual shield was needed to keep him alive from being trampled.

All mobs are inherently violent not because of the people inside of them not because of their political alignment but because of mob mentality and the will of some people to do bad things for a variety of reasons. I hope law enforcement learned their lesson here and will not be taking their guard down again

Just to remind you how vile some Americans can be. The police officer who was brutally beatened to death had his skull crushed by multiple blows to his head with a fire extinguisher. On January 6th.🤣🇨🇦

It's amazing doesn't matter if it's the right or the left you're both hypocrites. Y'all are blaming everything on each other and creating a divide that will no doubt be filled by corporate lackeys. So worried about socialism and fascism you can't see the threat coming from Wall and K street.
