Japan detects new COVID-19 variant in travellers from Brazil

Japanese authorities have detected a new variant of COVID-19 in four travellers from Brazil. The travellers arrived from Brazil’s Amazonas state on January 2. Unlike the variants first found in the UK and South Africa, this one has not yet found to be ’highly infectious’, authorities said citing preliminary findings. Studies are underway to find out the efficacy of vaccines against the new variant

It's stuff like this that makes me wonder why people think Covid was planned from the start. This stuff can happen anywhere, anytime, and with no rhyme or reason. That, and I don't think they'd be smart enough. If anything, they saw an opportunity to use it to their advantage; they grabbed the wheel, but don't know how to work the breaks, so to speak.
