A policy existing for nearly four decades has been lifted by the Trump administration with just days left in their administration. The policy unilaterally restricted visits by the US government to the democratic island of Taiwan. The Trump administration announced that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft would visit Taiwan this week. This move by the US has been condemned by Beijing.
Watch out now! Taiwan could again become a political football. Luckily the Biden administration will put the pieces back together again. What a complete disaster the R_a_t_e_f_f_e_r_junta has been. Good Riddance!
WW3 anyone?
Good. I'll take the Republic of China over the People's Republic of China any day. The PRC should be deligitimized.
Interesting. If Biden wants to reverse this policy in any way, shape, or form, he will receive significant bipartisan pushback. I like this outgoing move by Trump, it hamstrings China. I'm not excited about the idea of "obstructing" Biden but I like that this move locks his support in place concerning the free and democratic people of Tawain.
