Volkswagen tripled E-car sales ahead of new climate rules

Leading automaker Volkswagen tripled sales of its battery-only cars in 2020 despite the pandemic as its new electric compact ID.3 came on the market ahead of tough new European Union limits on auto emissions. It’s an early sign of an upcoming year of increasing market share for electric cars as EU regulations tighten their grip.

That’s one of the reasons I think of Tesla as totally overvalued. It currently is worth much more than Volkswagen, Toyota or any other car manufacturer. I get that it is because of shortterm investors etc. but for such a worth to be warrented longterm all other big manufacturers would need to mostly fail with their electrical vehicles and well, I’d rather buy an ID.3 than a Tesla even though the ID3 is somewhat small and not off-road worthy enough for me.
