Republicans Liz Cheney and John Katko to back Trump impeachment

Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) and Representative John Katko (R-New York) said they would vote to impeach President Donald Trump over inciting his supporters to storm the Capitol. Cheney dismissed fellow Republicans arguing against the need for it. Cheney is the No. 3 Republican in the House. Earlier, John Katko became the first House Republican to say he would vote to impeach Trump.

So Trump can be blamed for the capitol demonstrations (not a riot unless Portland CHAZ and "pigs in a blanket fry em like bacon" is also a riot) but somehow when Slate magazine lauds the benefits of violent protests, it is just a blog or something. But I am interpreting this to mean that they condone/support/do not disavow political violence, and that was the rationale for banning the president. Can anyone here prove me wrong? It would only be a whataboutism if it is an indirect comparison, my argument is apples to apples on this. Violence is violence, if you think it can be used to achieve a goal then maybe you should start with yourself.

Trump didn’t bring the riots at the capitol, that was all a result of the democrats lying and bs... the people are sick of it, and as they continue their narrative it’s only going to get worse, they could never stand that Trump wouldn’t back down and did things his way... the ones that hate him are out numbered by the ones that don’t, civil war is coming if this continues, even after Trump leaves office... antifa and blm will still be burning cities down and rioting and the govt won’t do anything... WE THE PEOPLE WILL!!!

Seems to me that Don Lemon's feeble minded utterences, especially as "reported" by huffpost, do not qualify as news. I'd rather hear what the National Enquirer has to say.

“Much more will become clear in coming days and weeks, but what we know now is enough. The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President,” the lawmaker added. “The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution.” “I will vote to impeach the President,” she concluded.

How about the presidents that actually committed real and demonstrable crimes? How quickly do we forget how the bee stings or the fire burns.

Red team and blue team are just two faces of the same puppet master. It's a game that's stacked against us and played to make us believe we actually have a say. This once reliable vote is just done.

There will be many more to follow. Trump is a shameful shell of a man and deserves to be punished for his role in the attack on Democray.

The Left wants to push the Right into conflict, because now that they have control over the entirety of the government, they can declare martial law, and the response is on their terms. We cannot wait.

We will remember this and will vote to remove these people and hopefully we can find some replacements that can’t be bought or swindled and will keep the safety and integrity and best interest of our country America at heart. This is so sad for the Republican Party. I can see so many people switching to independent which in turn could become a dangerous problem in its own but let the corrupt continue to expose themselves. They need to be cast out and put away.

If our government is going to impeach Trump over one riot he had no control over when he publicly told protesters to go home then let’s go ahead and impeach the Biden/Harris regime in the meantime as they did not tell people to go home during the summer riots and made riots that lasted months worse. Maybe then we could have a new election for this term. This is sickening watching these people turn their backs on our president and only makes them look corrupt. Like they are only trying to save themselves. They are weak individuals that I personally do not want working for me on any political level!

This is exactly what a RINO looks like, I don't know why the GOP welcomes people like Cheney or the Bush's.

Republicans are now scared and threatened by the liberal machine. Socialism is taking over our country.

the members of the House should be carefull to send their impeachment rules to the Senate. I don’t trust McConnell. If the Senate again puts up a false ‘trial’ the Impeachment will be just in name an impeachment. Better wait a 100 days and then send the impeachment rule to the Senate. For sure Trump will be found guilty. Don’t trust Moscow Mitch!!!
